Cookie notice
Last updated October 22, 2026
RankTheWorld uses only the cookies it needs to work. We don't use advertising cookies, tracking cookies or cookies from social networks, and our analytics don't use cookies at all. Because every cookie we use is strictly necessary, we don't need to ask for consent, so you won't see a cookie banner.
The cookies we use
| Cookie | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| rtw.session_token (on the live site: __Secure-rtw.session_token) | Keeps you signed in. Your browser's scripts can't read it, and it's only sent to our own server. | Up to 30 days, or until you sign out |
| rtw_voter | Set only when you vote on a Leaderboard list without signing in. It remembers which lists this browser has voted on, so you can see the results and change your vote, and so each browser votes once. It holds a random code, nothing about you, and your browser's scripts can't read it. | 2 years |
| Other rtw.* cookies | Short-lived security checks while you sign in with Google or set up a passkey. | A few minutes |
If you don't sign in or vote, we don't set any cookies. When you choose "Sign in with Google", Google may set its own cookies on its own pages under its own policies.
Analytics without cookies
We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies, local storage or fingerprinting, and doesn't track you across sites.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Browsing World Data works without cookies; signing in needs the session cookie.
